Ok, using the mitre saw square the end of the timber.

measure length

Then set the mitre saw stop at 450mm.

cut 4 lengths

And cut 4 lengths of pine. The flexibility and accuracy of the mitre saw makes the job so much easier.

measure half

Next you square off the remaining rough end and using your tape measure mark the centre…

2 legs

…and cut into 2 equal halves. We use these later for the 2 legs.
